Routine Foot Care
Routine Foot Care is described as the cutting, trimming or shaving of toenails (whether fungal, ingrown or not), corns or callus without the need for local anesthesia.
Routine Foot Care is NOT A Covered Service by all insurance companies, with rare exceptions. This means that patients wanting routine foot care (as a complete treatment or as a part of a treatment session) must pay a fee for that service that will not be reimbursed by insurance.
Medicare (and some other plans) cover routine foot care for patients with diabetes and/or very poor circulation every sixty-two (62) days only of the patient can show proof that they are under the recent care of an M.D. for one (or both) of these problems. Routine Foot Care, when performed in less than sixty-two days, is an uncovered service.
At Lifestyle Podiatry, we perform Routine Foot Care, utilizing sterile instruments, when NOT Covered, for a fee of $75.00.
